Sleep Dentistry

Sleep apnea occurs when the muscles and tissues at the back of the throat relax and collapse the airway while sleeping. As air attempts to pass through this collapsed airway, tissues vibrate and cause a person to snore. This collapse can actually cause a person to stop breathing which causes the a person to wake up momentarilly to allow airflow to resume.

There are multiple studies that show sleep apnea can cause multiple complications, including: chronic fatigue, high blood pressure, depression, heart attack and more–not to mention irritation of your bed partner. If you have been diagnosed with sleep apnea or snore, schedule a consultation with us to see if a dental sleep apnea appliance can help you (and your bed partner) sleep better. You may not even need to wear a CPAP mask ever!
