Lasers have come a long way in the last few years, and have proven to be very useful in dentistry. They have been shown to decrease postoperative bleeding, pain, and discomfort, and for the removal of small amounts of soft tissue like in gingivectomies or operculectomies, lasers are the treatment of choice.
